Church and Institute Notes from 2017

This post is just a compilation of personal notes I have taken from my previous attendances in church and in institute classes...

July 6, 2017:

The spirit world is here on earth. Our loved ones aren't that far away from us.

July 27, 2017:

If you feel lost, go to the temple.

August 31, 2017:

Who is the Savior to you?

To me, He is someone who loves me, no matter what I have been through or what I am going through. Someone who has forgiven me. Loyal to his word.

Hymn 136 - verse 3; first 2 phrases: "He lives, my kind, wise heav'nly Friend. He lives and loves me to the end."

"The Marvelous Foundation of Our Faith." -Gordon B. Hinckley

September 17, 2017:

Even the best of you will be sorely tested and will continue to be. You are marvelous.

We are being pushed to hasten the work. We need to become spiritually educated to fight against Satan.

Before you were born you were taught and prepared for the challenges you would face on this earth. Do you remember what you were taught?

You HAVE to include Christ, He will guide you.

How can we seal our testimony? Being faithful, keeping our covenants, reading scriptures, and sharing our testimony.

Christ is the way.

God always provides safety for the soul.

Chapter 16 - Gordon B. Hinckley Manual.

T - testifies of Christ

R- receive a witness of the Holy Ghost (learn to listen)

U - universal (other truths)

T - teachings/testimonies

H - heals!!!

Let God and Heaven be your goal.

If you want to be better at something, ask the Savior.

Hymns: Lead, Kindly Light #97;

Scriptures: Doctrine and Covenants 138; Abraham 3

September 27, 2017:

We are all important people, we are all valued in the eyes of God.

November 19, 2017

You accepted the gospel before you came here. The work continues beyond the grave. To those of us not doing the work, Jesus may say: "You had the information, why didn't you do my work?" When we lose ourselves in the service of our Father, we find ourselves.

November 26, 2017: Give revelation a chance. Act with real intent.

December 3, 2017: The death of a spirit is when their ancestors forget about them. (Have you ever seen the Disney movie Coco? That is what this phrase reminds me of).

"I can make it rain whenever I want, but I want to know what is in their hearts." -God

December 23, 2017: God's Creations Show His Love

Creation from Visions of Hope by Annie Hendri Nader

We are living in this beautiful world. Think of the sun, which gives us warmth and light. Think of the rain, which makes plants grow and makes the world feel clean and fresh. Think of how good it is to hear a bird singing or a friend laughing. Think of how incredible our bodies are- how we can work, play, and rest. When we consider all of these creations, we begin to understand what wise, powerful, and loving beings Jesus Christ and our Heavenly Father are. They have shown great love for us by providing for all of our needs.

Plant life and animal life were also made to give us joy. (Doctrine and Covenants 59:18-19)

Even though God's creations are many, He knows and loved them all. (Moses 1:35)

What are some things you appreciate about God's creations?

December 29, 2017: Women of the gospel can never be like women of the world.

"Read on of the gospels and look at how different Jesus was from the world around Him and realize that we need to be different too." -Erin Nicholson

December 31, 2017: Don't you know you'll be happy if you drink this gospel? Don't you know you'll be hungry if you don't?
